IonQ (IONQ) on Monday announced an expansion in Europe with the unit ID Quantique deploying Slovakia’s first national quantum communication network.
Shares were +1.35% pre-market to $53.40.
The College Park, MD-based quantum computing company said the new system will connect multiple metropolitan and remote sites through a quantum key distribution architecture, ensuring secure data movement serving four strategic locations.
The approach is complemented by a hybrid quantum key distribution–post-quantum cryptography system for cross-country connection.
“The skQCI (Slovak Quantum Communication Infrastructure) project is a strategic milestone in fortifying the digital sovereignty of the EU,” said CEO Niccolo de Masi.
