Rivian Automotive, Inc. (RIVN) announced on Friday that it produced 10,974 vehicles in Q4 at its manufacturing facility in Normal, Illinois, and delivered 9,745 vehicles during the same period to trail the consensus estimate of 9,958 deliveries.
For the full year 2025, Rivian (RIVN) produced 42,284 vehicles and delivered 42,247 vehicles. The electric vehicle maker noted that the Q4 and annual figures were in line with its own expectations. For comparison, Rivian delivered 50,122 vehicles in 2023 and 51,579 vehicles in 2024.
The lower production in 2025 was partly due to supply chain complexities driven by shifts in trade policy InsideEVs, and the company also intentionally scaled back production during Q2 to transition to its 2026 model year vehicles.
Looking ahead, Rivian (RIVN) is expected to start deliveries of the R2 electric SUV in the first half of 2026. The R2 is described as a mid-size, 2-row SUV positioned below the R1S, targeting a roughly $45K price to go after mass-market EV crossovers like the Tesla (TSLA) Model Y and Ford Mustang Mach-E.
Rivian (RIVN) will release its Q4 earnings report on February 12.
Shares of Rivian Automotive (RIVN) rose 0.8% in premarket trading.
