Exxon Mobil (XOM), Chevron (CVX) and BP (BP) are in talks with the Mexican government and state oil company Pemex about potential oil exploration and production projects that could produce as much as 200K bbl/day, El CEO reported on Wednesday.
The companies have submitted proposals to Mexico Energy Minister Luz Elena Gonzalez for the fields that would require new capital investment, and each of the projects could deliver up to 50K bbl/day of production, according to the report.
Several Mexican firms including Diavaz, Opex and Jaguar reportedly also have expressed interest in taking part in the development of the fields.
