Boeing (BA) has struck a provisional labor deal with SPEEA, the union representing 1,600 technical employees who became part of the company following its acquisition of Spirit AeroSystems Holdings last year.
The contract offer includes a $6,000 ratification bonus, a 20% increase to wage pools over 58 months, SPEEA said in a statement Thursday.
“This proposal hits most of the areas we tried to address,” said Wes Gardner, the negotiation team’s vice chairman, who also cited improved pay, time off, benefits, and bonuses—and improved contract language regarding retention ratings, flex time, and working from home.
“This is a huge increase for our SPEEA family,” Gardner said.
SPEEA’s WTPU represents aerospace professionals in non-engineering roles at Boeing’s recently reacquired Wichita operations. Their six-year contract expires Jan. 31, with a new agreement set to take effect Feb. 1.
Union members will have until 5 p.m. (CT) Jan. 30 to review the offer and vote on it.
