Google-owned (GOOG) (GOOGL) YouTube experienced a major outage late Tuesday, as hundreds of thousands of users worldwide reported disruptions. The company later resolved an issue with its recommendation system that had affected more than 350,000 users, confirming that all platforms have since returned to normal.
The outages led YouTube’s site to appear blank for some users, with no videos loading on the YouTube app, YouTube Music, and YouTube Kids. According to internet monitor Downdetector, more than 350,000 users reported problems, but that number fell to nearly zero a few hours later.
“The issue with our recommendations system has been resolved, and all of our platforms (YouTube.com, the YouTube app, YouTube Music, Kids, and TV) are back to normal,” YouTube said in an update.
YouTube faced outages in countries including India, Britain, Australia, and Mexico, according to DownDetector.
