Amazon Connect Health, an AI solution for healthcare, launched

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched Amazon Connect Health, a healthcare tool powered by artificial intelligence that reduces administrative workload for healthcare providers and accelerates care access for patients.

The agentic AI solution is designed to integrate with the electronic health records to automate administrative tasks such as patient verification, scheduling, and documentation, the company said on Thursday.

Amazon Connect Health is specifically tailored to medical settings, applying AI techniques on healthcare-specific datasets and guidelines, according to a statement from Colleen Aubrey, Senior Vice President of AWS Applied AI Solutions.

The company identified the system as the first purpose-built AWS solution for health care providers, and it noted that its primary care chain, One Medical, has already rolled out Amazon Connect Health.

“The results speak for themselves: ambient documentation now spans more than a million visits, with strong clinician adoption and regular weekly usage,” AWS said, adding that One Medical is expanding its use to medical coding to cut the administrative burden further.
