3M’s shares rise on earnings beat, but tariffs loom over future profits

3M’s (NYSE:MMM) shares rose 1.9% in premarket trading Tuesday after the maker of Scotch tape and Post-it Notes reported better-than-expected results for the first quarter. The company also warned that tariffs may have a negative effect on profits for the year.
