Adobe (NASDAQ:ADBE) is continuing the roll-out of artificial intelligence updates to its photography services, adding the technology to its stock photography business, Reuters reported.
The tools released Tuesday will let users start with a stock image and then use AI to alter it for their purposes. The creator of the original image is still compensated as if the image was never changed.
“A majority of people still have a blank canvas problem,” Adobe executive Matthew Smith told the news outlet in an interview. “Generative AI is not replacing stock (imagery). It’s not replacing creatives or contributors. It’s enhancing and giving them more potential opportunity to increase their earnings.”
Adobe made several AI-related announcements at its Max event last month that drew wide praise from analysts.
