AMD prices Ryzen 9000 processors cheaper than its previous-gen chips
- Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) has disclosed the launch price of its new range of processors for desktop PCs: the AMD Ryzen 9000 Series.
- The Ryzen 7 9700X with eight cores has been priced at $359, while the Ryzen 5 9600X with six cores will be launched for $279, the company announced in a post on social media platform X.
- The Ryzen 9 9950X with 16 cores will be priced at $649, while the Ryzen 9 9900X with 12 cores will be available for $499.
- The company said the Ryzen 9000 series processors will be available from this month with Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X launching on August 8, and Ryzen 9 9950X and Ryzen 9 9900X on August 15.
- The firm’s new Ryzen 9000 series is reportedly up to $50 cheaper than the launch price of its 7000 series.
