AI inference startup Baseten confirms $300M in new funding at $5B valuation

Baseten, a startup focused on providing inference for artificial intelligence applications, said on Friday that it has raised $300M in a Series E funding round, confirming previous reports.

The new funding round, which includes Nvidia (NVDA), Battery Ventures, Blackbird Ventures, and others as investors, values the AI startup at $5B.

“The last few years have been exhilarating: last year alone inference volume grew 100x,” Baseten wrote on its website. “We’ve had the privilege of partnering with some of the fastest-growing, highest-quality companies in the space—Abridge, Clay, Cursor, OpenEvidence, Mercor, Notion, and others—and a front-row seat to the real value they’re delivering to users. Looking ahead, demand for inference will only accelerate. Thinking and reasoning models require orders of magnitude more compute, and AI adoption across consumers and enterprises continues to compound. As AI becomes embedded in every product and workflow, inference isn’t just growing—it’s becoming one of the largest markets ever created. We’re building the software that powers it.”

The $300M Series E funding round is the company’s third capital raise in 12 months.

Nebius (NBIS) recently partnered with Baseten to offer AI companies and enterprises text-to-video inferencing across all its cloud regions in the U.S., Finland, and France.
