Alibaba (NYSE:BABA) has ventured into the smart glass product category, with a pair of glasses powered by its artificial intelligence models.
Called Quark AI Glasses, the product will launch in China by the end of 2025 and is powered by Alibaba’s Qwen large language model and its Quark AI assistant.
The glasses come with a built-in camera and are said to support hands-free calling, music streaming, real-time language translation, and meeting transcription.
The product represents Alibaba’s latest move to expand its influence in China’s competitive AI landscape. With this launch, Alibaba (NYSE:BABA) joins global tech rivals like Meta (META) and local players such as Xiaomi (OTCPK:XIACF) in the race to dominate the next wave of consumer tech through AI-enhanced eyewear.
BABA shares rose 1.91% premarket on Monday.
