Amazon sets its Prime Deal Days event for October 7-8 in an early kickoff to the holiday shopping season

Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) has set October 7-8 as its Prime Big Deal Days event in an early kickoff to the holiday shopping season. The e-commerce giant said Prime members will find offers on most-loved toy brands, including Fisher-Price (MAT), MAGNA-TILES, and Tonies; electronics from Samsung (OTCPK:SSNLF), LG, and Sonos (SONO); and home and kitchen appliances from Dyson, Ninja, and Shark. The company also said there will be more exclusive deals than ever before.

Amazon’s Prime Deal Days in October originated in 2022 as an exclusive October shopping event for Prime members and has since become an annual fixture, serving as a fall equivalent to the flagship July Prime Day. The October event was created to jumpstart the holiday shopping season by giving Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) and its partners a major sales boost ahead of Black Friday while offering Prime members deep discounts across popular categories like tech, home goods, apparel, and toys.

For the retail sector as a whole, the high-profile Amazon (AMZN) October shopping event created a wave of similar shopping promotions, which has pulled forward many holiday sales that were typically made during the four-day Black Friday to Cyber Monday period.
