Amazon unveils several AI tools to aid small businesses, third-party sellers
Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) unveiled several generative artificial intelligence tools on Thursday in an effort to aid small businesses and third-party sellers with their accounts.
The first tool, known as Amelia, is described as an “all-in-one, generative AI-based selling expert that is always available to immediately provide sellers with the answers, advice, and tools they need to succeed.” It is available from any page within Seller Central, Amazon’s dashboard for third-party sellers.
Amelia is being rolled out in beta for certain U.S. sellers. It will come to other U.S. sellers and other countries and languages other than English later this year.
Amazon also expanded the availability of generative AI product listing capabilities in an effort to get products in the hands of customers faster.
“In the new bulk listing workflow, sellers can upload a spreadsheet containing a sparse set of listing details and let Amazon’s generative AI create rich titles, bullet points, and descriptions for multiple listings at once,” Amazon said in a release. “These capabilities will help sellers create highly optimized detail pages and get more of their products in front of customers faster than ever before.”
Another generative AI update is A+ Content, which Amazon said will automatically create brand storylines to enhance seller product pages. A+ Content is free for brand owners in the U.S. and is available today and will come to additional countries by the end of the year.
Other generative AI updates include more personalized product recommendations and descriptions for customers and Video Generator, a new generative AI tool that lets sellers use Amazon’s advertising tools to create AI video content instantly using a single product image.
Amazon shares rose 2% in early trading, in line with the broader Nasdaq.
