Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days returns October 8-9, following the record-breaking prior Prime Day
Following the record-breaking success of Prime Day 2024 in July, Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) is set to kick off its annual Prime Big Deal Days event on October 8-9.
The two-day shopping extravaganza exclusively for Prime members starts at 12:01 a.m. PDT on October 8 and will offer early access to a range of holiday discounts.
The event features savings of up to 40% on seasonal essentials, including winter fashion, electronics, and Halloween costumes.
Prime members can also enjoy various other benefits, such as free access to Amazon Music Unlimited and Grubhub+.
Jamil Ghani, Vice President of Prime Worldwide, emphasized the value that Prime Big Deal Days brings to Prime members, stating, “Exclusive savings events like Prime Big Deal Days, combined with the fast, free delivery of over 300 million products across more than 35 categories, make Prime membership more valuable than ever.”
Leading up to the main event, Prime members can take advantage of select early deals across various categories, including:
- Amazon Devices: Save up to 55% on devices like the Blink Outdoor 4 camera system and eero mesh wifi systems.
- Small Business Deals: Enjoy up to 48% off products from independent sellers, including Black-owned, women-owned, and veteran-owned brands.
- Travel Deals: Score up to 40% off on Carnival cruises, 10% off experiences with Viator, and up to 30% off Avis rental cars.
Prime Big Deal Days will be available globally, in countries such as Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, the U.K., and for the first time, Turkey. Japan will follow later in October.
In the U.S., Prime members can access over 300M items with free shipping, including tens of millions available for Same-Day or One-Day Delivery in over 120 metro areas. Amazon Day allows members to choose a designated day for their deliveries, optimizing convenience and reducing packaging waste.

Prime Day 2024, held in July, was a resounding success, with record-breaking sales and increased participation from Prime members. Popular brands like Apple and Dyson, as well as small businesses such as TruSkin and Blueland, were particularly sought after. Independent sellers contributed significantly to the event’s success, selling over 200M items.
According to Adobe Analytics, consumers spent a total of $14.2B during Prime Day 2024, an 11.0% increase compared to the previous year. Mobile devices drove nearly 49.2% of online purchases, reflecting the growing trend of shopping on smaller screens.
Amazon shares have outperformed the broader market, surging approximately 32% over the period of one year and nearly 22% so far in 2024.
