Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has begun shipping advanced AI servers from a factory in Houston, Texas, as part of the iPhone maker’s $600B commitment to boost U.S. manufacturing.
“Apple’s American-made advanced servers are now shipping from our new Houston facility to Apple data centers!” its CEO Tim Cook posted on X. “These servers will help power Private Cloud Compute and Apple Intelligence, as part of our $600B U.S. commitment.”
“Our teams have done an incredible job accelerating work to get the new Houston factory up and running ahead of schedule and we plan to continue expanding the facility to increase production next year,” Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) COO Sabih Khan said.
The tech giant announced the new manufacturing factory in Houston back in February, saying it planned to start production of servers later this year.
At the time, Apple (AAPL) said the 250,000-square-foot facility was slated to open next year and would create thousands of jobs.
