Apple (AAPL) bringing its Apple Intelligence features to China may be getting closer after a new feedback form recently popped up on the tech giant’s website, MacRumors reported.
The feedback form asked users for an +86 phone number, with +86 being the country code for China, the news outlet added, citing the form. The form has since been removed from Apple’s website, but Seeking Alpha was able to independently verify the form’s existence and the need for an +86 phone number prior to removal.
Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Seeking Alpha.
Apple introduced Apple Intelligence in 2024 at its annual developers conference. Since then, the company has come under some criticism for a lack of features with Apple Intelligence, which requires an iPhone 16 (now obsolete) or later.
Alibaba (BABA) Chairman Joseph Tsai said in February 2025 that iPhones would use Alibaba’s AI technology to aid with Apple Intelligence in China. However, the launch of the features was reportedly pushed back by the trade war between the U.S. and China.
In May, Bloomberg reported that Apple could launch Apple Intelligence in July as part of its iOS 18.6 update, but that did not happen. The next iOS update Apple is scheduled to launch is iOS 26.2, which is set to happen before the end of the year.
Apple is set to partner with Alibaba and Baidu (BIDU) for Apple Intelligence, with Alibaba’s models being used for the censorship engine and Baidu’s models used for Siri and Visual Intelligence. In the U.S., Apple has partnered with OpenAI for Siri integration.
An upgraded version of Siri is likely to be a part of iOS 26.4, which is set for some time in early 2026.
