- Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has added a feature to its News app allowing users to receive real-time U.S. election updates as results pour, or trickle, in tonight from across the nation.
- Users simply need to open the News app and tap on the banner stating: Follow the election live.
- A box then pops up stating: Live Activity Scheduled. It will now provide the latest election results on the Home Screen or Lock Screen of an iPhone or iPad.
- The feature, which Apple calls Live Activities, was originally released in 2022, but it’s typically been used for live sports scores. Users do not need an Apple News subscription to utilize the live election results feature.
