Apple to expand Fitness+ to 28 new countries, including India, Japan

  • Apple (AAPL) said on Monday that its Fitness+ fitness service will be expanding into 28 additional markets, including Hong Kong, India, Japan, and more.
  • Included in the group of 28 countries are Chile, the Netherlands, Singapore and Taiwan, which will all get the service on Dec. 15, Apple said. Japan will launch “early next year,” Apple added. The expansion will bring Apple Fitness+ to 49 different countries and regions.
  • In addition, “hundreds” of workouts and meditations will be dubbed with a generated voice in Spanish, German, and Japanese and the service will get access to the K-Pop music genre.
  • “Through its seamless integration across Apple devices, Fitness+ has helped inspire users to live a healthier day,” said Jay Blahnik, Apple’s vice president of Fitness Technologies in a statement. “From seeing real-time, personal metrics right onscreen with Apple Watch or AirPods Pro 3, to the ability to bring the service with you wherever you go on iPhone or iPad, we’re delivering unmatched motivation to users. We couldn’t be more excited to bring this experience to even more users around the globe with our biggest expansion yet.”
  • Apple shares fell fractionally in premarket trading.
