Apple’s chip head says he is not leaving company ‘anytime soon’ – report

Apple’s (AAPL) Johny Srouji, who oversees the company’s chip unit, told staff that he’s staying at the company, Bloomberg reported.

“I know you’ve been reading all kind of rumors and speculations about my future at Apple, and I feel that you need to hear from me directly,” he said in a memo to his division. “I am proud of the amazing Technologies we all build across Displays, Cameras, Sensors, Silicon, Batteries, and a very wide set of technologies, across all of Apple Products. Together we enable the best products in the world. I love my team, and I love my job at Apple, and I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon,” the report added.

Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Seeking Alpha.

The news outlet had reported over the weekend that Srouji had discussed leaving Apple, indicating that he may work for a different technology company.

Last week, Apple made changes to its executive ranks, as the company said that its long-time general counsel and head of environmental policy would depart the iPhone maker.

Prior to that, Apple announced that John Giannandrea, senior vice president for Machine Learning and AI Strategy, would step down from his position and will serve as an advisor to the company before retiring in the spring of 2026. He will be replaced by AI researcher Amar Subramanya, who will join Apple from Microsoft (MSFT). Subramanya also worked at Google (GOOG) (GOOGL) for 16 years, working his way up from a staff research scientist to vice president of engineering, where he helped develop the AI assistant Gemini.
