Apple’s ‘Joz’ hypes Mac announcements coming next week
Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Greg “Joz” Joswiak hyped up an upcoming week of Mac announcements.
“Mac your calendars! We have an exciting week of announcements ahead, starting on Monday morning. Stay tuned…,” Jozwiak posted on X late Thursday morning.
Apple is expected to soon release new Macs running on the next-generation M4 chips. These are intended to improve artificial intelligence tasks. The new chips are expected to be featured in new iMacs, MacBook Pros and Mac mini. These computers could be released as soon as this year.
The M4 comes with a powerful CPU with four performance cores and six efficiency cores and a new 10-core GPU which brings ray tracing. The M4 also has a 16-core neural engine, capable of 38T operations per second.
Industry observers also expect iOS 18.1 to begin rolling out on Monday. The update will bring the first wave of Apple Intelligence features to the iPhone 16. The iOS 18.2 beta became available to some developers this week. An update to AirPods Pro is expected soon as well.
The new iPad mini powered by the A17 Pro chip, and also geared for Apple Intelligence, became available yesterday.
And of course, Apple will release its fourth quarter fiscal 2024 financial results on Thursday, October 31. A consensus estimate calls for earnings per share of $1.55 on a staggering revenue total of $94.26B.
Apple shares were flat during Thursday afternoon trading.
