Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16 to feature Arm’s newest chip design architecture – FT
- Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) on Monday will unveil its iPhone 16 model that will feature a next-generation chip developed by Arm’s (NASDAQ:ARM) latest design architecture, the Financial Times reported on Saturday.
- The latest iPhone will be powered by Apple’s (AAPL) A18 chip, with the tech giant incorporating Arm’s (ARM) newest A9 chip design, according to FT, which cited sources familiar with the matter.
- Apple (AAPL) said in May it would use Arm’s V9 architecture for its newest M4 MacBook chips. Arm is majority-owned by Japan-based Softbank (OTCPK:SFBQF)(OTCPK:SFTBF)(OTCPK:SFTBY)(OTCPK:SOBKY).
