‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ extends No. 1 reign for second weekend
‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ for the second straight weekend was the No. 1 movie in North America, this time with $51.6 million in ticket sales, according to studio estimates Sunday. The Warner Bros. (NASDAQ:WBD) release added $28.7 million in international markets to lift its global total to $264.3 million.
In second place was “Speak No Evil,” a remake of a 2022 Danish horror film about an unsuspecting family who spend a weekend with new friends. Universal Pictures (NASDAQ:CMCSA) grossed an estimated $11.5 million from 3,375 locations in the United States and Canada.
“Deadpool & Wolverine” from Walt Disney’s (NYSE:DIS) Marvel Studios was in third place for its eighth weekend with $5.2 million. The hit superhero film has grossed $621.5 million in North America and $1.3 billion worldwide.
“Am I Racist?” from conservative media company The Daily Wire was in fourth place with an estimated $4.7 million from 1,517 theaters. The mockumentary follows columnist Matt Walsh going undercover as a “DEI trainee.”
Coming up this week is the release of animated sci-fi action movie “Transformers One” from Paramount Pictures (NASDAQ:PARA).
Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Comscore. Final domestic figures will be released Monday.
