US banks kicked off the fourth-quarter earnings season in high gear. Five of the top six banks—Bank of America (NYSE:BAC), JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM), Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS), Citigroup (NYSE:C), and Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS)—reported better-than-expected results.
