Big night for Warner Bros Discovery at 83rd Golden Globes

The 83rd Golden Globes delivered a notable night for Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) with the studio claiming top honors across multiple categories, including best dramatic motion picture and cinematic and box office achievement.

Hosted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the Golden Globes – which kicks off the 2026 awards season – honors excellence in both film and TV. And while nominees were sprinkled across big Hollywood studios like Warner Bros (WBD) and Paramount Pictures (PSKY), smaller, niche studios made a very noticeable presence, notably NEON Films with 10 nominations including Best Motion Picture for “It Was Just an Accident,” “The Secret Agent,” “Sentimental Value,” “No Other Choice,” and “Arco,” for best animated film.

“One Battle After Another” not only describes the high-stakes contest between Netflix (NFLX) and Paramount Skydance (PSKY) for Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) but also scored the top prize for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for the studio. Warner Bros (WBD) also took home top honors for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement and Best Original Score for “Sinners,” as well as acting, directing, and screenplay nods for “One Battle After Another.” In the TV categories, Warner Bros. Discovery’s (WBD) “The Pitt” won best TV series and best actor, and best actress for “Hacks.”

Focus Features (CMCSA) also had a big night with “Hamnet” winning for both Best Motion Picture – Drama, and Best Performance by a Lead Actress.

Netlix’s (NFLX) “Adolescence” won four Globes – the most of any TV show – for best actor, best supporting actress, best supporting actor, and best limited series, while the viral “KPop Demon Hunters” took the top prize for best animated motion picture and best original song. Rival Apple TV only pulled in two awards, both for “The Studio,”

And despite box-office blockbusters “Zootopia 2” and “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” Disney (DIS) lost out to Netflix’s “KPop” in the animated and best original song categories, and to “Sinners” in cinematic and box office achievement.
