Stock futures edged higher Thursday morning after a U.S. court ruled against former President Trump’s reciprocal tariff policy. Investor sentiment was also stirred by Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s announcement that he is stepping down from his role as head of DOGE-related initiatives under the Trump administration.
Here are some of Thursday’s biggest stock movers:
Biggest stock gainers
- NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA) +5% – Shares advanced after the chipmaker delivered stronger-than-expected Q1 results, highlighted by 69% Y/Y revenue growth and a 73% jump in data center sales. Gaming revenue surged 42% Y/Y and 48% sequentially, while automotive and robotics rose 72%, and professional visualization gained 19%. Despite forecasting Q2 revenue of $45B, just below the $45.92B consensus, and factoring in an $8B loss tied to H2O-related revenue, investors cheered the overall strength of the report.
- C3.ai (NYSE:AI) +12% – Shares climbed after the company reported better-than-expected FQ4 results, with a narrower non-GAAP EPS loss of -$0.16 (beating by $0.04) and revenue rising 25.5% Y/Y to $108.72M (topping estimates by $1.02M). However, its outlook disappointed, with Q1 revenue guidance of $100M–$109M (midpoint $104.5M) vs. $105.82M consensus and FY2026 revenue projected at $447.5M–$484.5M (midpoint $466M) vs. $466.09M expected. Management said FY2026 focus areas include expanding into new verticals, growing through alliances, and reinforcing its lead in generative and agentic AI.
Biggest stock losers
- HP (NYSE:HPQ) -8% – Shares plunged after the company reported mixed FQ2 results and issued disappointing guidance, sparking investor concern. For FQ3, HP projected adjusted EPS of $0.68–$0.80, well below the $0.90 consensus. Full-year adjusted EPS guidance of $3.00–$3.30 also missed estimates of $3.56, raising concerns about ongoing weakness in demand.
- SentinelOne (NYSE:S) -10% – Shares slumped as investors reacted to a tepid revenue outlook, despite the cybersecurity firm topping Q1 estimates with 23% Y/Y revenue growth and a 24% rise in ARR. While Q2 revenue guidance of $242M aligned with expectations, the FY2026 outlook of $996M–$1.001B disappointed, with the midpoint of $998.5M missing the $998.5M consensus.
