Stock futures moved higher early Tuesday after President Donald Trump announced over the weekend that he would postpone a planned 50% tariff on the European Union, signaling a possible window for trade negotiations and easing concerns of an imminent trade conflict.
Here are some of Tuesday’s biggest stock movers:
Biggest stock gainers
- Hesai Group (NASDAQ:HSAI) +3% – Shares rose after reporting mixed Q1 results, with revenue growing 46.3% Y/Y. The company shipped 146,087 ADAS lidar units during Q1, marking a 178.5% increase Y/Y, while total lidar shipments surged 231.3% to 195,818 units. For Q2, Hesai expects revenue between RMB680M ($93.7M) and RMB720M ($99.2M), implying a Y/Y growth of 48% to 57% and aligning with the $94.15M consensus. CEO David Fan confirmed FY2025 guidance remains intact, with projected revenue between RMB3B and RMB3.5B, total shipments of 1.2M to 1.5M units, a gross margin of 40%, and GAAP net income ranging from RMB200M to RMB350M.
- Informatica (NYSE:INFA) +10% – Shares rallied after reports that Salesforce is reviving acquisition talks with the software company. Salesforce (NYSE:CRM), led by Marc Benioff, had earlier explored a deal in 2024, but it failed to materialize. Informatica was taken private in 2015 by Permira and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, both of which still hold sizable stakes. The company returned to the public markets in 2021. CRM up 2.5% Tuesday morning.
Biggest stock losers
- Prothena (NASDAQ:PRTA) -31% – Shares plunged after the company announced it will explore strategic options and implement significant workforce and spending reductions following the failure of its Phase 3 trial for birtamimab in AL amyloidosis. The treatment did not meet its primary endpoint—time to all-cause mortality, and also missed secondary endpoints, including the 6-minute walk test and SF-36v2 Physical Component Score. As a result, Prothena is discontinuing development of birtamimab, with detailed cost-cutting measures expected next month.
