Boeing (NYSE:BA) appointed Doug Ackerman as the aviation company’s next senior vice president of quality for its commercial aircraft unit, succeeding Elizabeth Lund as she retires next month.
Lund had planned to retire this year after more than 33 years at Boeing (BA), Chief Operating Officer Stephanie Pope said in a message to employees. Lund was named SVP for quality in February
Ackerman’s most recent job was vice president of supply chain and fabrication quality.
The appointment comes as Boeing (BA) works to resume operations at its factories in Washington State after a 53-day strike. Machinists have returned to factories, but restarting production could take several weeks.
