Boeing beats Airbus in jet orders for first time since 2018

Boeing (BA) +2.8% in Tuesday’s trading after reporting orders for 1,175 airplanes last year, topping the 1,000 gross sales reported by Airbus (EADSF) (EADSY) previously and outselling its rival for the first time since 2018, and its net total after cancellations of 1,075 was Boeing’s sixth-highest annual total and exceeded Airbus’ 889 net orders.

Boeing (BA) said it handed over 63 jetliners to customers in December, the planemaker’s best month since 2023 and bringing its annual delivery total to 600 aircraft, also the most in seven years, although it lagged Airbus’ (EADSF) (EADSY) delivered total of 793 last year.

In 2025, Boeing (BA) delivered 440 737 MAX jets and a six-year high 88 787 Dreamliners.

Boeing’s (BA) growing order book is a vote of confidence from airlines and aircraft lessors that the company’s turnaround is real, Leeham aerospace analyst Scott Hamilton told Reuters.
