Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) District 837 will vote Friday, Sept. 19, on a union-proposed four-year contract covering 3,200 Boeing (NYSE:BA) Defense employees in the St. Louis area.
The agreement, if ratified, will be submitted to Boeing (NYSE:BA) as a pre-approved deal. Boeing (BA) would then decide whether to accept it; otherwise, the strike that began more than six weeks ago will continue.
Union leaders said the proposal includes higher 401(k) contributions, wage adjustments for top-scale workers, and a ratification bonus compromise.
“Our members’ solidarity and determination are the reason we’ve been able to put forward this creative path to settlement,” IAM Midwest Territory General Vice President Sam Cicinelli said in an emailed statement.
The strike has affected production of the F-15EX, F/A-18, T-7A, MQ-25 and future F-47 aircraft.
The vote will take place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Louis Music Park in Maryland Heights, with results expected shortly after polls close.
Seeking Alpha sought comment from Boeing (BA) on the proposal, and will update this article with any statement.
