Boeing is said to boost 737 deliveries to China
Boeing (NYSE:BA) in August delivered the most 737 Max jets to China in about six years, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing data from analytics firm Cirium. The higher deliveries are seen as positive for new Chief Executive Officer Kelly Ortberg as he works to boost cash flow and clear inventories of completed planes.
The company last month handed over nine 737 Max planes to customers, the highest monthly count since December 2018. Soon after that date, regulators grounded the best-selling narrowbody plane after two deadly crashes.
Boeing (BA) this year is working to overcome concerns about the safety of the 737 Max after a new plane lost a door panel in mid-flight. The Federal Aviation Administration has capped output of the plane model until it is satisfied that Boeing (BA) has fixed its manufacturing problems.
Plane deliveries are an important indication of cash flow for Boeing (BA), which faces the possibility that thousands of workers may strike next week after their current work contract expires.
