Boeing strike: Contract negotiations to continue amid ‘no meaningful movement’
- Boeing (NYSE:BA) and its largest union will continue negotiations on Tuesday amid a strike by about 33,000 workers that began on September 13.
- “Although we met with Boeing and federal mediators all day, there was no meaningful movement to report,” the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers told its members on Monday.
- “We will be back at it tomorrow, continuing to push the critical issues you’ve told us matter most. We remain focused on fighting for the priorities of the membership.”
- The union is seeking a 40% wage hike rise over four years and the reinstatement of a defined-benefit pension plan.
- The IAM last month refused to put Boeing’s “best and final offer,” which included a 30% pay raise, up for a vote by members.
