Four flight attendants on the January 2024 Alaska Airlines flight that experienced a mid-air door plug blowout are suing Boeing (NYSE:BA), according to reports on Friday, claiming they “sustained injuries of a personal, permanent, and pecuniary nature.”

Four attendants working the flight claimed in four separate lawsuits that, “As a direct and proximate result of the ejection of the door plug and the resulting decompression, Plaintiff sustained physical and mental injuries, severe emotional distress, and other damages of a personal and pecuniary nature.”

The lawsuits, filed this week in Seattle’s King County Superior Court, accuse Boeing (NYSE:BA) of negligence and failure to exercise reasonable care in the production, sale and repair of 737 MAX jets and its parts.

Boeing (BA) “knew or should have known of the quality control issues present in its production of the 737 MAX line of aircraft,” the filings said.

The flight attendants “deserve to be wholly compensated for this life-altering traumatic experience,” said Tracy Brammeier, the attorney representing each of the plaintiffs.

The 2024 incident sparked a crisis for Boeing (BA) and prompted the U.S. Department of Justice to open a criminal investigation into the company.
