Capital One Financial (NYSE:COF) plans to lay off 215 employees based at the former offices of Discover Financial Services, the Washington Business Journal reported.
According to the report, citing Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, the notice states that 193 positions will be eliminated by Oct. 17, while the remaining 22 are scheduled for termination in May 2026.
Capital One did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
The report further said the layoffs are tied to Capital One’s decision to wind down Discover’s mortgage business.
