The most overbought stocks per their 14-day relative strength index include Iris Energy (IREN), WalkMe (WKME), and ADMA Biologics (ADMA). The most oversold stocks per their 14-day Relative Strength Index include Cibus Inc (CBUS), MongoDB (MDB), and UiPath (PATH). Short interest is elevated on Cutera (CUTR) and Trupanion (TRUP) heading into next week’s action. Roaring Kitty’s options on GameStop (GME) expire on June 21.
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Lennar (LEN) and La-Z-Boy (LZB).
- All day – The quiet period ends on Bowhead Specialty Holdings (BOW) to free up analysts to post ratings.
- All day – GE Vernova (GEV), Altus Power (AMPS), Phillips 66 (PSX) and ChargePoint Holdings (CHPT) are some of the companies participating at the two-day J.P. Morgan Energy, Power and Renewables Conference.
- All day – Notable investor events include Qiagen’s (QGEN) Capital Markets Day and Keros Therapeutics’ (KROS) business update call.
- All day – Walmart’s (WMT) member-only Walmart+ shopping event will begin and run through June 23. The retail giant jumped ahead of Amazon’s (AMZN) Prime Day event on the calendar this year.
- All day – French automaker Renault (OTCPK:RNSDF) will host a Dacia-focused event.
- 1:00 p.m. Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank President Patrick Harker will speak on the economic outlook before the Global Interdependence Center 42nd Annual Monetary and Trade Conference.
Tuesday – June 18
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include KB Home (KBH) and America’s Car-Mart (CRMT).
- All day – Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) will hold its HPE Discover event. CEO Antonio Neri will be joined onstage at the Sphere (SPHR) in Las Vegas by Nvidia (NVDA) CEO Jensen Huang.
- All day – Notable investor events include Element Solutions’ (ESI) R&D Day, and Bread Financial’s (BFH) Investor Day.
- 8:30 a.m. The May Retail Sales report will be released.
- 10:00 a.m. Nuvei (NVEI) holders vote on sale to Advent.
- 11:00 a.m. Southwestern Energy (SWN) and Chesapeake Energy (CHK) have holder votes on merger deal.
- 2:00 p.m. Chicago Federal Reserve Bank President Austan Goolsbee is scheduled to participate in the “Economic and Monetary Policy” panel before the hybrid 2024 Marshall Forum.
Wednesday – June 19
- All day – The U.S. stock markets will be closed for observance of the Juneteenth National Independence Day federal holiday.
- All day – Rocket Lab (RKLB) is scheduled to launch an Electron rocket for the “No Time Toulouse” mission, the first of five dedicated flights on behalf of French Internet-of-Things company Kinéis.
- 9:00 a.m. Pure Storage (PSTG) CEO Charlie Giancarlo will give a keynote address at the company’s Pure//Accelerate conference.
Thursday – June 20
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Accenture (ACN), Kroger (KR), Darden Restaurants (DRI), Jabil (JBL), and Winnebago (WGO).
- All day – Notable investor events include Ormat Technologies’ (ORA) Investor Day, Enviri’s (NVRI) Analyst Day, Pure Storage’s (PSTG) meeting for analysts as part of the Pure//Accelerate event, and annual meetings for DoorDash (DASH) and eBay (EBAY).
- All day – WTI crude June futures will expire. Crude oil futures have seen extra volatility over the last year on contract expiration dates.
- 12:30 p.m. – Federal Trade Commission closed door meeting.
- 4:00 p.m. Richmond Federal Reserve Bank President Thomas Barkin will speak before the Risk Management Association.
Friday – June 21
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include CarMax (KMX) and FactSet (FDS).
- All day – The stock market could see extra volatility with triple witching day featuring the simultaneous expiration of stock options, stock index futures, and stock index options contracts.
- All day – It is the FDA action date for Sarepta Therapeutics’ (SRPT) elevidys for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Argenx’s (ARGX) Vyvgart therapy for adults with the autoimmune disease.
- Postmarket – The S&P 500 Index, S&P MidCap 400 Index, and S&P SmallCap 600 Index will be officially rebalanced after the market closes. CrowdStrike (CRWD), KKR & Co. (KKR), and GoDaddy (GDDY) will join the S&P 500 at market open on June 24. Texas Pacific Land Corp. (TPL), BioMarin Pharmaceutical (BMRN), Warner Music Group (WMG), Nextracker Inc. (NXT), Altair Engineering Inc. (ALTR), and RB Global (RBA) will head to the S&P MidCap 400. Meanwhile, Krystal Biotech (KRYS), Virtu Financial (VIRT), StepStone Group (STEP), Cactus Inc. (WHD), and Tidewater Inc. (TDW) will join the S&P SmallCap 600.
