The most oversold stocks per their 14-day Relative Strength Index include Janus Intl (JBI), Cogent Comms (CCOI), and Perrigo (PRGO). Sphere (SPHR) and Sunrun (RUN) head into the week with a high level of short interest outstanding.
- IPO watch – Companies expected to price their IPOs and begin trading next week include Central Bancompany (OTCPK:CBCY). The IPO lockup period expires for blocks of shares of Hinge Health (HNGE) and Fast Track Group (FTRK). The analyst quiet period expires on MapLight Therapeutics (MPLT) to free up analysts to post ratings.
- Dividend watch – Companies that have an ex-dividend date coming next week include ConocoPhillips (COP), L3Harris Technologies (LHX), Applied Materials (AMAT), and Microsoft (MSFT).
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Trip.com (TCOM), XPeng (XPEV), and Aramark (ARMK).
- All day – Notable investor events include NetGear’s (NTGR) Investor Day, National Vision’s (EYE) Investor Day, Yum China’s (YUMC) Investor Day, and Invitation Homes’ (INVH) Investor & Analyst Day.
- All day – The temporary restraining order preventing the Surmodics (SRDX) sale to private equity firm GTCR will expire.
- All day – Shareholders with Verint (VRNT) will vote on the buyout deal from Thoma Bravo.
- 9:00 a.m. New York Federal Reserve Bank President John Williams will give welcome remarks before the 2025 Governance and Culture Reform Conference organized by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
Tuesday – November 18
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Home Depot (HD), Baidu (BIDU), Amer Sports (AS), and Klarna (KLAR).
- All day – Microsoft’s (MSFT) flagship annual conference for IT professionals, developers, technology leaders, and partners will begin. Microsoft Ignite will include updates on the latest advancements in cloud, AI, digital workplace, security, and enterprise solutions. In addition, Microsoft (MSFT) CEO Satya Nadella will make a presentation.
- All day – Notable investor events include TransAlta’s (TAC) Investor Day, Aptiv’s (APTV) Investor Day, Upwork’s (UPWK) Investor Day, and AECOM’s (ACM) Investor Day. Oracle (ORCL) will hold its annual meeting amid some criticism over the company’s cloud security handling and lawsuits stemming from data breaches
- All day – Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is due to meet with President Donald Trump at the White House.
- All day – It is the FDA action date for Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals’ (ARWR) plozasiran for familial chylomicronemia syndrome.
- 10:30 a.m. Bill Ackman will host a social media livestream next week to share a proposed transaction regarding Fannie Mae (OTCQB:FNMA) and Freddie Mac (OTCQB:FMCC).
Wednesday – November 19
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Nvidia (NVDA), TJX Companies (TJX), Palo Alto Networks (PANW), Lowe’s (LOW), Target (TGT), Jack in the Box (JACK), and Williams-Sonoma (WSM).
- All day – Notable investor events include Block’s (XYZ) Investor Day, the Ira Sohn London Conference, Moderna’s (MRNA) Investor Day event, Rockwell Automation’s (ROK) Investor Day, and NVIDIA’s (NVDA) SLUSH Conference appearance.
- All day – Deutsche Bank Global Space Summit will include participation from numerous space-related companies, including AST SpaceMobile (ASTS), Firefly Aerospace (FLY), Rocket Lab (RKLB), Blue Origin (BORGN), and Avio (OTC:AVVSY).
- 2:00 p.m. The Federal Reserve will release the minutes from its last meeting.
- 2:00 p.m. New York Federal Reserve Bank President John Williams will speak before the “Making Missing Markets: Connecting Communities and Capital” hybrid event.
- 5:00 p.m. Nvidia (NVDA) will hold its earnings conference call. AMD (AMD) and Taiwan Semi (TSM) have the closest trading correlation to Nvidia. Suppliers that derive a significant portion of revenue from the chipmaker and typically trade directionally with it after earnings include Fabrinet (FN) and Micron (MU).
Thursday – November 20
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include Walmart (WMT), Intuit (INTU), Ross Stores (ROST), Warner Music Group (WMG), and Gap (GAP). Options trading implies a double-digit share price move for Bath & Body Works (BBWI) after it reports.
- All day – WTI crude December futures will expire. Crude oil futures have seen extra volatility over the last year on contract expiration dates.
- All day – Notable investor events include TE Connectivity’s (TEL) Investor Day, American Public Education’s (APEI) Investor Day, and Insulet’s (PODD) Investor Day event. Bank of America expects Insulet to lay out three-year revenue, margin, EPS, and pipeline targets during its presentation.
- All day – Shareholders with Guess? (GES) will vote on the buyout deal from Authentic Brands Group.
- Fedspeak – Federal Reserve speakers include Beth Hammack delivering opening remarks, Austan Goolsbee in a moderated discussion in Indianapolis, and Anna Paulson discussing the economic outlook.
- 8:00 a.m. Walmart (WMT) will hold its earnings conference call. The spotlight will be brighter on the call after the company announced CEO Doug McMillon is retiring next year. Cal-Maine Foods (CALM) and Bridgford Foods (BRID) are the two suppliers to Walmart that trade with a high directional correlation to it.
- 10:00 a.m. The Existing Home Sales report will be released by the National Association of Realtors.
Friday – November 21
- Earnings watch – Notable companies due to report include BJ’s Wholesale Club (BJ).
- All day – U.S. flash PMI reports will be a major focus of economists.
- All day – Universal Pictures’ (CMCSA) Wicked: For Good will open in U.S. theaters. The film has generated strong advance ticket sales, with Fandango calling it the biggest pre-seller for a PG film in their history.
