Caterpillar to showcase AI, autonomy strategy at CES 2026

Caterpillar (CAT) on Monday said it will present its approach to industrial artificial intelligence and autonomous systems at CES 2026, where the company is scheduled to deliver a keynote and host a technology exhibit focused on connected and automated worksites.

Chief Executive Officer Joe Creed, who was named a keynote speaker by the Consumer Technology Association, will discuss how Caterpillar (CAT) is applying digital tools and machine expertise to address customer requirements and operational challenges.

In prepared remarks, Creed said advances in technology are enabling the company to better combine data-driven insights with its equipment knowledge to support customers’ most critical tasks.

Caterpillar (CAT) has emerged as a beneficiary of AI-related infrastructure spending, as the construction of large data centers boosts demand for equipment supporting power generation, grid upgrades and on-site energy systems.

The keynote is scheduled for Jan. 7 at the Palazzo Ballroom at the Venetian in Las Vegas.

Caterpillar (CAT) executives including Chief Digital Officer Ogi Redzic and Chief Technology Officer Jaime Mineart are also expected to speak. NVIDIA (NVDA) Vice President of Robotics and Edge AI Deepu Talla will join Caterpillar (CAT) leaders on stage to discuss an expanded collaboration between the companies.

On the CES show floor, Caterpillar (CAT) plans to demonstrate AI-enabled and autonomous technologies through several exhibits, including a live demonstration on a compact excavator and interactive displays showing how operational data can be used for guidance, safety and fleet management. The maker of heavy machinery will also outline its long-term development of autonomous equipment, drawing on decades of deployment in mining and construction environments.
