A spokesperson for the Chinese government said on Monday that the export curb controls the U.S. has placed on semiconductors are undermining the trade consensus the two countries reached earlier this month, Bloomberg reported.
The spokesperson made the comments in reference to the comments that the Trump administration said using artificial intelligence processors from China’s Huawei Technologies “anywhere” would break the controls.
Huawei competes with the likes of Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) and others in the AI accelerator market.
The Chinese embassy in New York did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Seeking Alpha.
