Devon Energy President/CEO Muncrief to retire in March, succeeded by Gaspar
Devon Energy (NYSE:DVN) said Monday that Rick Muncrief will retire as President and CEO, and as a board member, effective March 1, 2025, to be succeeded by current COO Clay Gaspar.
Muncrief became Devon’s (DVN) President and CEO in January 2021 following the company’s merger with WPX, where he was Chairman and CEO; prior to joining WPX, he was a senior VP at Continental Resources, and had previously served for many years in various managerial capacities with ConocoPhillips and its predecessor companies.
Gaspar assumed the role of executive VP and COO in January 2021 following Devon’s (DVN) merger with WPX Energy, where he was President and COO; his earlier career includes technical and leadership positions with Newfield Exploration, Anadarko Petroleum, and Mewbourne Oil.
