Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) is expanding the perks available for subscribers to its flagship Disney+ streaming service. Subscribers who sign up for the Disney+ program through the Disney+ website will have access to perks such as discounts on Disney (NYSE:DIS) resorts, free items in video games, and a $10 credit at Disney Pinnacle by Dapper Labs, which was noted to sell collectible pins. Subscribers will also be able to enter contests to win a Disney (DIS) cruise and attend movie premieres.
At the end of Q1, Disney+ had approximately 124.6 million subscribers worldwide, which was a slight decrease from the 125.3 million reported at the end of Q4. Disney+ peaked with 153.8 million subscribers at the end of Q3 of 2024. Currently, about 30% of current Disney+ subscribers are on the ad-supported tier
Disney (DIS) also unveiled a perks program for Hulu subscribers. Starting June 2, the program will give subscribers a chance to win tickets to Jimmy Kimmel Live! , Comic-Con and the Lollapalooza music festival. Customers who subscribe to both Disney+ and Hulu through various packages will be able to access the perks programs from both.
“Our fans are some of the most passionate in the world, and perks are our way of thanking them for subscribing to Disney+,” stated Disney (DIS) Executive Vice President Samantha Rosenberg about the new features.
Shares of Disney (DIS) edged 0.2% lower in Thursday afternoon trading.
