U.S. Department of Justice investigators have questioned former employees at UnitedHealth Group (NYSE:UNH) on Medicare billing practices at the insurance company, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing unnamed sources.
This would mark the latest development in the DOJ’s investigation into potential Medicare fraud at the health insurer. Representatives from the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Inspector General and the FBI also reportedly took part in the interviews.
UnitedHealth is yet to respond to Seeking Alpha’s request for comment. Shares of the company fell around 1.5% premarket on Wednesday.
