EU drafts $84B additional duties on U.S. goods, including Boeing aircraft, U.S. cars, and bourbon – report

EU Tariff Conflict

The European Union has prepared a new list of retaliatory tariffs worth €72 billion ($84 billion) on U.S. goods, including Boeing (NYSE:BA) aircraft, automobiles, bourbon, and a wide range of industrial and agricultural products, Bloomberg reported.

The move comes in response to President Donald Trump’s tariff threats, including a planned hike to 30% on EU goods starting August 1. EU trade chief Maros Sefcovic called the proposed rate “effectively prohibitive” and said it risks derailing transatlantic trade.

The 206-page list, prepared by the European Commission and seen by Bloomberg, was narrowed from an initial €95 billion after consultations with companies and member states and excludes military imports.

It covers more than €65 billion of industrial goods, including nearly €11 billion in aircraft, over €9.4 billion in machinery, and €8 billion in autos, as well as €6 billion in agrifood products.

The broad package also includes precision equipment and instruments, toys and hobby equipment, sports guns, or musical instruments.
