Figure, the robotics startup backed by Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) and others, announced on Tuesday that it has raised a Series C funding round with more than $1B in new capital that values it at $39B.
The funding round was led by Parkway Venture Capital and includes Nvidia, along with Brookfield Asset Management, Macquarie Capital, Intel Capital, Align Ventures, Tamarack Global, LG Technology Ventures, Salesforce, T-Mobile Ventures, and Qualcomm Ventures.
“This milestone is critical to unlocking the next stage of growth for humanoid robots, scaling out our AI platform Helix and BotQ manufacturing,” said Brett Adcock, Figure founder and CEO in a statement. “Support from new partners, alongside the continued backing of our existing investors, reflects both Figure’s position as the market leader and a shared belief in a future where this technology becomes a natural part of daily life.”
“We backed Figure from its earliest days because we saw a world-changing vision taking shape,” Jesse Coors-Blankenship and Gregg Hill, general partners at Parkway VC, said in a joint statement. “Brett and his team are proving that autonomous humanoid robots can solve real problems and are poised to enrich everyday life. Surpassing $1 billion in committed capital at a $39 billion valuation is a powerful validation of Figure’s progress.”
In 2024, the company, then known as Figure AI, raised $675M from investors, including Parkway, Amazon (AMZN) founder and executive chairman Jeff Bezos, Nvidia and others, at a $2.6B valuation.
This past February, Adcok said the robotics company would launch robots for the home, as its artificial intelligence has advanced “faster than any of us anticipated.”
Figure’s robot, known as Figure 01, is an artificial intelligence-powered robot that acts like a human and can be used to perform tasks deemed dangerous or unsuitable for humans.
A number of other tech companies are working on robots, including Tesla (TSLA), which has its Optimus humanoid-like robot. Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk said last year that Optimus could wind up being the company’s biggest business over time.
Apple (AAPL) is also reportedly working on its own humanoid robot.
