Ford (F) sold 175,584 vehicles in October, an increase of 1.6% from a year ago with gas-powered vehicles offsetting a significant fall-off in demand for electric vehicles.
The company sold 3.4% more ICE vehicles in October, while electrified sales were down 9.3%, led by a 24.8% decay in sales of fully electric vehicles and 4% drop in hybrid sales.
By vehicle type, cars were the most popular, realizing a 43.0% increase in sales year-over-year, while truck sales were up 4.9% and SUVs sales dropped 4.7%.
Ford (F) and General Motor (GM) shares both opened more than 1% lower.
