General Motors and Canadian Union reach tentative agreement
- Canada’s trade union Unifor announced a tentative agreement with General Motors (NYSE:GM) for over 1,300 workers at the CAMI Assembly and Battery Assembly plants in Ingersoll, Ontario.
- Further details of the agreement will be presented to union members during a ratification meeting scheduled for Sunday, September 22, 2024. The results of the vote will be announced later that day.
- “Congratulations to our bargaining committee for their incredible work at the bargaining table. Every member of our team was instrumental in fighting for and winning this tentative agreement on behalf of all Unifor Local 88 members at CAMI,” said Unifor National President Lana Payne.
- Out of the 1,300 members, more than 1,100 work at the CAMI Assembly plant, and approximately 200 union members work at the GM Battery Assembly facility.
