Goldman Sachs stress capital buffer revised slightly lower by Fed
- The Federal Reserve lowered Goldman Sachs’s (NYSE:GS) stress capital buffer slightly after the Wall Street firm requested that the central bank reconsider its original determination, it said in a statement on Wednesday.
- Based on an analysis of additional information Goldman Sachs (GS) provided, the SCB was revised to 6.2% from a preliminary figure of 6.4%, the Fed said.
- Based on stress test results, the Federal Reserve determines how much capital a bank is required to set aside to weather an economic downturn.
