President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet with Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) Chairman and CEO David Solomon on Thursday afternoon, according to a media report, as investors and economists are still trying to get a handle on the scope and potential impact of the administration’s tariff policy.
Solomon and Trump are set to meet at the White House on Thursday, Bloomberg News reported, citing people familiar with the matter. One of the people said the topics on tap include the economy and geopolitics.
The meeting comes after JPMorgan Chase (JPM) CEO Jamie Dimon reportedly met with Trump last week to discuss the economy, trade and affordable housing.
With deregulation among the Trump administration’s priorities, bank executives have been vocal about what they’d like to see, especially in terms of adjusting capital ratio requirements. Last week, bank executives and lobbyists gathered at the Federal Reserve’s Integrated Review of the Capital Framework for Large Banks Conference in Washington, DC.
