Google (GOOG) has signed a solar power agreement in Malaysia, as the tech giant looks to secure clean electricity for its operations.
Google (GOOGL) will buy power from a 30-megawatt solar farm developed by a consortium led by a local unit of Shizen Energy, the Japanese company said in a statement on Monday.
The 29.99 MWac project is located in Gurun, Kedah, Malaysia, and achieved financial close on November 03, 2025. It is scheduled to achieve its commercial operation date in 2027.
The solar power plant is being developed, constructed, and owned by SM01 Sdn. Bhd., a consortium comprising Shizen Malaysia (49%), Solarvest (33%), and HSS (18%).
