Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) is likely to release the next version of its artificial intelligence large language model, known as Gemini 3, in December, technology journalist Alex Heath reported.
The search giant has historically released new base versions of its Gemini models in December, the most recent being Gemini 2.0. The latest model from Google — Gemini 2.5 Pro — was released in March. An updated version of the model, Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview (I/O edition), which contained improved capabilities for coding, was announced in June at the tech giant’s I/O developer event.
Alphabet, Google’s parent company, said on its most recent earnings call that the Gemini app had surpassed 450M monthly active users.
Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Seeking Alpha.
