- Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has signed a deal with data warehousing startup Databricks to host its artificial intelligence Gemini models, The Information reported.
- The deal is part of an expanded agreement between the search giant and Databricks and is set to be announced later today, the news outlet added, citing comments from Databricks co-founder and CEO Ali Ghodsi.
- In March, it was reported that Snowflake (SNOW), which competes with Databricks in the data warehousing space, was in discussions with Google about securely bringing the search giant’s Gemini large language models to Snowflake’s customers.
- Google shares fell 0.9% in premarket trading, while Snowflake was off 1.1%.
- Anthropic recently signed a deal with Databricks to bring its language models to its platform.
- Google and Snowflake did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Seeking Alpha.
