Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) unit Google’s AI investments are primarily in technical infrastructure, according to Google APAC head of AI and emerging tech policy Eunice Huang, Reuters reported.
“As our CEO has said, in these early days of a very transformative technology, the risks of under investing are dramatically higher than the risks of over investing,” said Huang at a panel discussion at the Reuters NEXT Asia summit in Singapore, the report added.
Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Seeking Alpha.
In April, Alphabet’s CEO Sundar Pichai reaffirmed the company’s pledge to invest about $75B to build out data center infrastructure. The comments came at a time when investors were concerned about the impact of U.S. tariffs.
